We are all performers of life: we sing in the shower, draw sketches in our notebooks, write poetry on our napkins, and move to the rhythm of the music we listen to – but we rarely get a chance to show ourselves to the world.
The concept of open-mic/open-stage has emerged to provide a platform for the non-professional performers to express themselves to a kinder audience. No one is judging you. No one needs to score 10 out of 10. This is a place where you can be yourself.
Wheelys Café wants to give you a chance to express yourself. Every Tuesday anyone who wishes to perform can join us at the cafe (No.100 Jawatte Road, Colombo 5). Be yourself and tell us your story.
Germaine and Sherry from Foreplay will be hosting the event. So, you also get to hang out with them or take a selfie. That’s pretty cool right?
If you haven’t heard already, Wheelys Café is the only place in Sri Lanka where you get to enjoy a 100% handmade coffee. Apart from this we also have chilled juices, iced coffee and iced tea.
Wheelys also serves BBQ Chicken and Australian Sirloin for dinner with a variety of meal options such as Baked Cinnamon Rice, Garlic Bread, Grilled Corn, Jacket Potato, Air-fried Potato Wedges, Tomato Salad, Sauteed Vegetables.
Happy hour 10% off from 7.00 PM – 8.00 PM
In keeping with the theme of Re-use, Re-purpose, Recycle – Wheelys Café has an interior made of used wooden pallets, the café bike that runs on solar power and tabletop items made of popsicle sticks.
Basically, almost everything within Wheelys Café premises is reused, repurposed or recycled.
The event starts at 7.30pm on Tuesday 12th of December and will go on until midnight.
Come join us – the more the merrier!
